Krogerus Data Symposium, one of Finland's largest events focusing on data and AI regulation and utilisation, will be held this year on Wednesday, 5 November 2025 at Musiikkitalo in Helsinki. Throughout the day, we will delve into Europe's digital competitiveness, the latest developments in the EU's far-reaching data, AI and cybersecurity regulations, and the practical implications they bring.


Among many other compelling themes, the programme features a dedicated panel discussing real-world experiences from the early stages of implementing the Data Act. It also offers perspectives on applying the AI Act in practice, new cybersecurity considerations in today's AI-driven world and a forward look at what lies ahead for digital policy in the EU.

Pascal Belmin
Vice President, Head of EU Aviation & Regulatory Affairs
Airbus Brussels

After having graduated from ESSEC, a Master in European law at the Sorbonne University and the French Bar, Pascal practiced as a lawyer in Brussels and Paris, specialising in competition and trade laws. He then created and developed the competition law department of the Airbus (at the time EADS) Group. He transitioned this practice to cover EU regulatory matters generally (including ESG, digital, competition, public procurement, trade instruments) as well as aviation and environmental affairs. He is notably in charge of the digital regulatory advocacy (DMA, DGA, DSA and more recently Data Act and AI Act), coordinating a transnational task force to this effect.

Pascal teaches at ESSEC (MS DAIM), is President of the Legal committee of the French aerospace and defence professional association (GIFAS), President of the Economic, Legal and Trade Committee of ASD, the European aerospace and defence association. He regularly contributes to conferences on European, competition and digital policies policy topics.
Minna Frände
Head of Legal Affairs (Finland, Norway and the Baltics)
Microsoft

Minna Frände is Head of Legal for Microsoft in Finland. She provides strategic legal advice to her international business stakeholders on a broad array of commercial legal topics, focusing on AI, privacy, antitrust, licensing of cloud services and strategic partnerships. Prior to joining Microsoft, she held various global legal roles at Nokia Corporation, worked as an attorney at Van Bael & Bellis in Brussels and as a visiting lawyer at Canon in Amsterdam. She holds LL.M degrees from the University of Turku (Finland) and from the College of Europe (Bruges, Belgium).
Patrik Gayer

AMD

Patrik Gayer serves as Government Relations Director, EMEA at AMD, leading strategic policy engagement across the region. Previously, he was Head of Global Affairs at Silo AI, where he contributed to the company's acquisition by AMD, and Global AI & Data Policy Lead at Tesla. His experience includes advising Finland's Minister of Defence and directing a European public affairs operations consultancy in Brussels.

A Harvard University MPA, Patrik has published in the Harvard International Review and the Kennedy School Review on AI governance and European security. He specializes in technology and digital policy, with a particular focus on AI governance, bringing valuable insights on the intersection of security, technology, and innovation in the AI era.
Steven Hadwin

A&O Shearman

Steven is a cybersecurity lawyer at A&O Shearman. His practice is focussed on cyber risk management, incident response and post-incident disputes.

He advises clients on the implications of cybersecurity incidents from a legal, regulatory and liability risk perspective, and has extensive experience of regulatory investigations following incidents (including investigations and enforcement action by European data protection regulators).

Steven maintains an extensive network of contacts in the cybersecurity and risk management industries and is focussed on encouraging public/private and international collaboration in order to build greater cyber resilience across sectors and industries.
Sinikka Ilveskoski

Sinikka acts as Head of the international Marine Legal & Compliance team at Wärtsilä. Leading legal, compliance, cyber & risk management in Wärtsilä Marine. She is also member of the divisional management team, boards, and committees. Sinikka is passionate about risk management, sustainability, decarbonation, and collaboration.

Kai Kuohuva is a senior legal counsel working at Fortum, specializing in IT, technology law, data regulations, and cybersecurity. He has been closely involved in interpreting and applying new EU regulations on artificial intelligence, data, and security. His work includes developing practical legal approaches to data sharing, privacy, and IT operations within complex organisational environments. He has also contributed to national-level initiatives aimed at shaping frameworks for a fair and functional data economy.
Marcus Murray

Truesec

Marcus Murray is the founder of Truesec and one of the nation’s most recognized cybersecurity experts. He’s often interviewed on Swedish television, news press, and media regarding cyber threats in society and how to best protect against cyber attacks. He has over 20 years of experience protecting organizations against cyber breaches and helping them detect and respond to cyber threats, both in Sweden and internationally.
Marcus is also a top-ranked lecturer at tech events around the world where his focus is to increase awareness of security threats and vulnerabilities in a digital society. Marcus has several times been voted Top Speaker at Microsoft TechEd and RSA Europe, among others.
Jussi Mäkinen

Jussi leads digital EU digital advocacy at Technology Industries of Finland and took part in the Commission Expert Group on Model Terms for B2B data. He has long background on influencing the digital regulation and contractual practices related to data.
Stefan Lindstrom
Consul General, Ambassador
Consulate General of Finland in Houston

Ambassador Stefan Lindström is Finland’s Consul General in Houston. Covering 10 States the mandate is strongly trade related. He is a result driven career diplomat, business advisor and networker with 20+ years of global experience in branding, business/export promotion and building successful partnerships. Mr Lindström is a specialist in geopolitics, geo-economics and analyzing paradigm changes. He is a member of Boardman and Partner at five venture funds. He is an energetic public speaker and performer with a proven ability to translate ideas into concrete action in a global or local set-up.

Prior to this assignment, he worked as Ambassador of Technology at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as Consul General/Ambassador at the Finnish Consulate General in Los Angeles, as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Finnish Embassies in Portugal and Indonesia. Before that, he was the adviser to the undersecretary of state at the MFA in Helsinki, Finland and served with the Finnish missions in the USA and in India.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Lindström worked as legal adviser for the European Commission in Brussels and as a research assistant at the London School of Economics. Mr Lindström has a Master's Degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Master's Degree in International Law from the Åbo Akademi University.
Atte Ouninkorpi

As Group Lead AI Counsel at Verisure Group, Atte Ouninkorpi leads the legal aspects of the company’s AI governance efforts across countries, working for example with the AI Act. He is also involved in one of the JTC21 working groups currently developing standards to support the AI Act. Before his current role, he has, among other things, led legal matters at an AI startup.
Dr. Aura Salla

Aura Salla is a Member of the European Parliament. Prior to this, she was a Member of the Finnish Parliament, where she actively engaged in international and EU affairs. Before entering the Finnish Parliament, Aura held the role of Managing Public Policy Director and Head of EU Affairs at Meta’s Brussels office. She also has extensive experience in the European Commission, where she worked as a Foreign Policy and Communications Adviser in the European Political Strategy Centre (EPSC) and as a Member of Cabinet for Vice President Jyrki Katainen. Aura holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Turku.
Samantha Sayers

Samantha is the Global Head of Privacy, Risk & Compliance and Global Data Protection Officer at Bolt, where she leads a global team overseeing privacy, risk, and compliance across the company. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic direction of Bolt’s global privacy programme and the management of core functions including privacy legal, office of the DPO, employee health & safety, sustainability, data & systems, legal operations, and risk & compliance.

She trained in private practice at Fieldfisher before moving in-house, where she built extensive experience as privacy counsel across industries including technology, pharmaceuticals, energy, automotive, consumer goods, marketing, and entertainment. Over her career, she has advised global organisations such as Spotify, Vodafone, BP, Astellas Pharmaceuticals, Coty Inc., Dentsu Aegis Network, WABCO, and Yum! Brands.

She has a proven track record of building high-performing teams from the ground up and developing smart compliance solutions that balance innovation with business risk. Kalle Hynönen

He advises clients on both contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters with a particular focus on copyrights and trademarks, and he is an authorised trademark attorney in Finland. He has extensive experience in commercial contracts and transactions relating to intellectual property, data, technology and media. Kalle also regularly provides counsel on marketing law and data protection matters and he is a CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe). Prior to joining our firm, he worked as an in-house IPR counsel at a leading European media and learning solutions corporation.

Emma specialises in contract law assignments relating to technology, R&D, intellectual property and data and advises clients on these topics. Within IP law, she has a particular focus on patents. She also supports clients with their ICT projects and provides advice on data protection matters. Having worked as an in-house counsel in the field of innovative research for several years, Emma has extensive experience in supporting a wide range of research and commercial projects. In addition to her law degree, she holds an MSc (Econ. & BA) degree specialising in IP law.
Iiris Rantanen

Iiris specialises in intellectual property law, data protection and European law. Additionally, she provides counsel in assignments relating to commercial contracts, technology, consumer protection and marketing law. Iiris began working at our firm already as a law student, prior to which she worked as a trainee in another law firm in Finland. She has also gained notable experience in EU litigation while working in a judge's cabinet at the General Court of the European Union.
