From the start, you are given meaningful responsibility, receive close support and contribute to complex client assignments as part of the team. You'll gain insight into how transactions, disputes, regulatory matters and strategic decisions are handled in practice, while building the skills and confidence needed for a career in business law. Along the way, you'll learn from some of the industry's leading professionals, work in a low-hierarchy environment and gain practical experience from day one. Many of our lawyers started their careers as Krogerus trainees, and chose to continue to grow with us.

Our trainee programmes

  • Associate Trainee

    Our Associate Trainee programme gives you the opportunity to work on varied client assignments, develop your skills and gain practical experience in legal matters. The four-month full-time programme is intended for law students who are close to graduation or have completed at least three years of legal studies. As an Associate Trainee, you'll gain insight into the work of the practice group that interests you the most. You'll work closely with our lawyers across a range of assignments, supporting the team at different stages of each matter.

  • Legal Trainee

    Our Legal Trainee programme provides the opportunity to dive into insolvency law-related assignments with our market-leading Restructuring & Insolvency team. You'll work on assignments with a focus on supporting the administration in bankruptcy proceedings and corporate restructuring cases. The trainee programme is usually intended for students who have finished at least three years of legal studies. While the position is part-time (2–4 days a week), your input might occasionally be needed on a full-time basis.

  • Knowledge Management Trainee

    Our Knowledge Management Trainee programme offers a unique opportunity to develop your legal research skills and learn about legal, regulatory and market developments. The trainee programme runs part-time (2–3 days a week) for one year and would suit a student who has finished two to three years of studies and is familiar with most fields of law.

  • Office Support Trainee

    Our Office Support Trainee programme offers insight into what working in a law firm is like. Intended for students in the early stages of their studies, the part-time traineeship (1–2 days a week) runs for eight months. You'll support our lawyers and Business Services in various tasks, such as organising materials, coordinating document deliveries and mail, and assisting with front desk and switchboard duties when needed.

Recruiting process

Preparation

Before submitting your application, read about our trainee programmes above and find a programme that suits you. If you're applying for an Associate Trainee position, we also encourage you to explore our practice groups to find the practice area that interests you the most.

Application

Submit your application, CV and any requested documents through our recruitment system. We carefully review all applications and assess each candidate’s background, interests and suitability for the role. Please note that applications are only accepted through our recruitment system, which can be found in the job advertisement for the position you're applying for.

Interview

Selected candidates will be invited to an interview. We'll support you as you prepare for the interview to help you present your potential in the best possible way. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better, learn more about your experience and interests, and answer any questions you may have about the role and life at Krogerus.

Assignment

Depending on the traineeship, you may be asked to complete a short assignment as part of the recruitment process. The type of assignment varies between our trainee programmes and is designed to reflect the skills relevant to each role, ranging from translation exercises to legal research tasks.

Decision and feedback

At the end of the recruitment process, we'll inform all candidates of our decision. The decisions will be communicated as soon as possible. Whenever possible, we also provide personal feedback and practical tips to support you in future recruitment processes.
