Krogerus advised Omnes Capital S.A.S. and Ilmatar Windpower Plc on their establishment of a new joint venture company, Ilmatar Energy Ltd, and on the joint venture's acquisition of a fully permitted wind farm Piiparinmäki-Murtomäki from Metsähallitus.
The Piiparinmäki-Murtomäki wind farm, located in the municipalities of Pyhäntä and Kajaani, consists of 50 turbines with an aggregate nominal capacity of 250 MW. Piiparinmäki-Murtomäki is the first acquisition by Ilmatar Energy in Finland and also the largest acquisition of a fully developed wind farm in Finland to date.
Ilmatar Energy targets further acquisitions of development stage and construction ready assets in Finland and in the Nordic region. Drawing on the extensive experience of both owners, Ilmatar Energy Ltd aims to construct and operate up to 1000 MW of wind power in the next five years.
70% of Ilmatar Energy Ltd is owned by FPCI Capenergie 3, a fund managed by Omnes Capital and dedicated to renewable energy with EUR 245 million in assets under management. Ilmatar Windpower owns 30% of Ilmatar Energy and manages the company.
The Krogerus team was led by partner Ville Hailikari. He was assisted by senior associate Nikolas Sjöberg and associates Vilma Jeskanen and Ella Soldan.
