We are expanding our service offering with the launch of a new Industrial Construction & Projects practice, responding to the growing client demand for active, strategic legal advisory in industrial projects. The practice is led by our new Partner Katja Perätalo, a highly regarded industrial construction expert, supported by a newly established team of experienced lawyers.

In the coming years, companies in Finland and globally will invest heavily in both green and brownfield industrial projects and improving the efficiency of energy-intensive manufacturing. Our new Industrial Construction & Projects practice is designed to meet the needs of evolving industrial investments. It provides strategic legal advice during the full lifecycle of complex industrial construction, energy, and infrastructure projects, both in terms of contentious and non-contentious aspects.

"The operating environment of industrial projects is fundamentally changing driven by the energy transition, rapid development of AI and cloud computing, security of supply, and decarbonisation. At the same time, regulation and geopolitical considerations are reshaping investment decisions, with strategic industrial capabilities increasingly viewed as matters of national security. This increases the demand for proactive, strategic and comprehensive legal advice throughout the project lifecycle", describes Katja Perätalo, head of the new Industrial Construction & Projects practice.

“The launch of our new practice responds to client demand and the growing scale and complexity of industrial investment, strengthening our position as the go-to adviser for clients in this space. By building a distinct Industrial Construction & Projects practice, we can support our clients even more effectively in turning complex industrial investments into successful projects. From the investment decision to a fully operational asset, clients need advisers who see the bigger picture, anticipate issues and find solutions that keep projects on track”, summarises Managing Partner Mårten Knuts.

Building a strong team and growing practice

In addition to Katja, the Industrial Construction & Projects core team includes the following experts:

The practice will also leverage expertise across our M&A, Energy, Real Estate, Banking & Finance, Tax, Technology, and Dispute Resolution practices by forming multidisciplinary project teams, to ensure a comprehensive and value-adding service for our clients.

"I am excited to join Krogerus together with Maija, Monika, Sofia and Victoria and to build the new Industrial Construction & Projects practice with such a skilled team. Together with our colleagues from other practices, we will deliver practical legal advice that takes into account the commercial realities of each project. I look forward to working alongside our clients to turn their plans into action", concludes Katja.
