Krogerus seminar on competition neutrality mentioned in Kauppalehti, Finland’s premier business journal

Krogerus’ client seminar on recent changes to Finnish competition and local governance laws had the Helsinki office full of attendees. The 1 October event was also mentioned in Kauppalehti, Finland’s premier business journal.

Legislative changes are centred on the idea of competition neutrality – the prevention of market distortions caused by certain business activities of the public sector.

Speakers at the seminar were Juhani Jokinen, Director General of the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (FCCA), Eeva Vahtera, Senior Adviser from the Ministry of Employment and the Economy and Karin Lunning, Director of International Affairs at the Swedish Competition Authority.

“The changes to the Finnish Competition Act give the FCCA newfound authority to take action if equal competitive circumstances for public and private players are jeopardised,” says Katri Joenpolvi, head of Krogerus’ Competition and Regulatory practice.

“We are honoured that our renowned speakers were able to share their unique insights into how various stakeholders are affected.”
