Leena Lindberg, head of asphalt cartel investigation at FCA, has joined Krogerus

Ms Leena Lindberg, LL.M., M.Sc. (Econ.) joined Krogerus as a co-head of the Competition Law practice group in December 2010.

Previously, Ms Lindberg was a Management Group member at the Finnish Competition Authority (FCA), where she was in charge of several major investigations and litigations, including the recent asphalt cartel case.

She has also served as group member and secretary in the working group set by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy to assess the need to amend the current Act on Competition Restrictions. Ms Lindberg has worked for a year at the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, in addition to which she has represented Finland in a number of EU competition policy reform projects and Commission case proceedings.

Ms Katri Joenpolvi, Head of the Corporate & Commercial business area, is delighted about Ms Lindberg’s arrival at the firm. “Leena has unique expertise and she has shown considerable skill at managing major projects and successfully bringing them to a close. Leena strengthens our competences particularly in the field of cartels and provides additional insight in the economic analysis of cases. As a result-oriented, practical and approachable person, she fits right in with us.”

Ms Lindberg took up Krogerus’ offer with enthusiasm. “Krogerus has a highly respected and growing Competition Law practice group that has handled many high-profile cases. My transition to Krogerus has been smooth, since I have worked with the group’s key personnel for years, even though we sat on different sides of the table. I first met Katri nearly 15 years ago at the FCA. Furthermore, I have been impressed by the rapid development of the entire firm in recent years. Krogerus’ future seems very promising.”
