OP, Nordea and Handelsbanken have committed to arrange the necessary loan financing for the new children’s hospital. The loan agreement was signed on 23 January 2015.
The total funding of EUR 160 million needed for the children’s hospital consists of donations, support from the State of Finland and the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, and loan financing.
“Confirmation of the loan financing is a very important milestone in the progress of the project. It has been very important to us that the debt financing is treated in the same spirit as the project’s other financing. We are very happy that these banks in Finland got involved in solving the financing issue,” says Anne Berner, chairman of the board of the Association and Foundation New Children’s Hospital 2017.
Krogerus acted as the banks’ pro bono adviser in the contract negotiations.
