Krogerus advises Invalidisäätiö on the sale of Orton to HUS and Mehiläinen

Krogerus advised Invalidisäätiö on the sale of Orton Oy to Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District (HUS) and Mehiläinen Terveyspalvelut Oy.

Orton is a healthcare organisation specialising in musculoskeletal disorders, pain management, ocular diseases and therapeutic services. As a result of the transaction, HUS and Mehiläinen became the owners of Orton with a 90% and 10% stake respectively. The transaction also contained a rental agreement, where HUS leases approximately 9,000 square metres of hospital facilities in a property owned by Invalidisäätiö with a ten-year agreement.

Krogerus also advised Invalidisäätiö on the sale of a 10% minority share in HYKSin Oy to Mehiläinen.

HYKSin produces Helsinki University Hospital’s medical services for international and private patients focusing on demanding medical care not widely available in private hospitals in Finland or in Europe.

After the transaction, Invalidisäätiö will remain a minority shareholder in HYKSin with a 10% share. Other shareholders of HYKSin include HUS (70%), Mehiläinen (10%) and Varma Mutual Insurance Company (10%).

The Krogerus team was led by senior advisor Lennart Simonsen. He was assisted by senior associate Taru Kovanen and associate Jukka-Petteri Hyyppä.
