“You can learn an incredible amount just by listening to your senior colleagues and clients.”

Today, I work as an Associate in the firm’s Capital Markets and Corporate Governance team and my path at Krogerus began in the fall of 2017 as an Associate Trainee. The most important learnings from my traineeship were the importance of teamwork, finding the things that you are the most interested in and learning your own way of working. In my opinion, these three leanings serve as the core of working in a professional services business. As the job can sometimes be rather hectic and demanding, getting to know your teammates and finding your own way of working, as well as working with assignments that interest you and with clients you value, is essential.

The three best things about my traineeship were the people (kind of a cliché, but you’d be surprised), the constant feedback I received during my traineeship (pro tip: write some of it down) and the fact that I was given a true opportunity to show my talent right from the start. If I could give a piece of advice to an aspiring lawyer or trainee, I would tell them to keep their ears open at all times. You can learn an incredible amount just by listening to your senior colleagues and clients.

The traineeship led to a permanent position as an Associate. Currently, I advise both issuers (publicly listed companies or soon-to-be publicly listed companies) and underwriters (banks) in a variety of capital market transactions ranging from IPOs and other equity offerings to debt issuances. I also act on public M&A transactions and advise listed companies on their ongoing disclosure and corporate governance matters. My strongest sources of inspiration are, without a doubt, my colleagues and clients. I love working with dedicated people on complex and demanding matters.
