Krogerus advises Allianz Capital Partners on its acquisition of three wind parks in Finland

Krogerus advised Allianz Capital Partners GmbH on its acquisition of three wind parks in Finland from Portofino New Energy B.V., which is owned by Impax New Energy Investors II LP.

This acquisition is the largest wind power transaction in Finland to date.

Two of the wind parks, Joukhaisselkä and Kuolavaara-Keulakkopää, are located in Sodankylä, Lapland, while the third wind park, Saarenkylä, is located in northern Ostrobothnia. The wind parks have a total capacity of 107.7 megawatts, which is enough to satisfy the electricity demands of around 95,000 average EU households.

Allianz Capital Partners is the in-house investment platform for alternative investments of the international financial service company Allianz Group.

With this acquisition, Allianz's commitment to the European renewable energy sector exceeds EUR 3 billion in 63 wind farms and seven solar parks. Allianz's current renewable energy portfolio is located in Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden and the United States.

The Krogerus team, led by partner Ville Hailikari, included counsel Marjukka Sippola, senior associates Heidi Kivenjuuri and Nikolas Sjöberg and associates Milla Niemi, Hanna Tuominen, Teemu Lahdelma and Juho Jalo.
