Career stories (2025) – Knowledge Management Trainee

Who are you and where do you study?
My name is Vilma and I work as a Knowledge Management Trainee at Krogerus. I am currently studying for a Master of Laws at the University of Helsinki. I wrote my bachelor's thesis on information law and the law of obligations, and now in my master's studies I want to focus on courses related to the internal market and competition law.
What has been the best part about being a trainee at Krogerus?
I would have to say that the warm atmosphere created by the people who work at Krogerus.
What was the recruitment process like and how did it feel?
After sending my application, which included a cover letter, a CV, and other relevant documents, I was invited to an interview. Based on the interview, I got a good impression of Krogerus, and the decision was communicated promptly.
What does your typical workday consist of?
Each workday is different, and you cannot predict the content of the coming days from the previous day. The tasks vary from shorter assignments to long-term projects, and sometimes detective skills are highly needed. In terms of content, the tasks assigned to the Knowledge Management team vary from administrative to legal issues, so as a Knowledge Management Trainee you'll get to deal with a very wide range of issues.
Which colleagues have you been working regularly with during your trainee period?
I've worked with various practice groups and office support teams. Also, other trainees and their tasks have become familiar through cooperation.
What do you especially appreciate about Krogerus' culture and atmosphere?
I especially appreciate the growth-mindset at Krogerus. The firm’s growth is openly promoted through the training of the personnel in a variety of ways. Also, a low-hierarchy system, genuine support for personal development and appreciation of individuality creates an exciting work environment.
How have you been supported as a young professional at Krogerus?
Due to the low hierarchy, there is also a low threshold for asking for help. My co-workers have encouraged me to ask bluntly for more details. I've noticed that the people here at Krogerus are very eager to help and explain whenever necessary.
What are you planning to do after this traineeship?
After this traineeship, I will continue my studies and begin to work on my master's thesis. Alongside this, it would be great if I could work in the field of competition and contract law and learn more about it in practice.
