The significance of competition law in business has substantially increased over the past few years. Competition rules have to be taken into account in all substantial transactions and contract relationships at the set off.

The continuous development of competition rules and the possible severity of the consequences for failing to comply by them place new challenges on companies and public bodies. This has increased the demand for competition law expertise.

Our experts are widely and comprehensively experienced in competition law work. Our competition law expertise is given particular strength by the fact that before entering private practise our experts have worked a total of nine years for the Finnish Competition Authority.

The core of our expertise is comprised of co-operation self evaluation, competition law planning of corporate structures, acquisition notifications, processes before the authorities in cases of a suspected misuse of a dominant market position, compliance programmes, public procurements, and trials. We continuously assist our clients, for example, before the Finnish Competition Authority, the Commission, the Market Court, and the Supreme Administrative Court.

Our work requires us to follow our clients’ business and to develop our understanding of the market. This is a result of voluntary interest, as well as our view that understanding business is an essential precondition for providing high quality competition law services.

Our expertise in EU law has seen us represent Finland in trials, but we have also drafted appeals, statements, and reports for the Commission, Ministries, organisations, and companies. Furthermore, we provide the Commission’s EU law public advice service (Eurojus) in Finland.
